Product Overview
The VIA-S70 Windows-based archiving and transmittal software with marking capabilities is designed for the professional who needs a simple way to store images, transmit them over the Internet or local area network (LAN), mark details, or circle an area of interest.
The VIA-S70 can also print the image with or without the VIA marker overlay. The VIA-S70 is designed to grab an image using a frame grabber, or a TWAIN compatible device, such as a digital camera or scanner. The software can also operate without a camera or a scanner when images are created and displayed on screen with another application.
Marking features include pointers, scales, grids, boxes, circles, crosslines, freehand drawing, straight line drawing, and text labeling. The VIA-S70 software also allows users to query its database of stored images by descriptive fields or use a thumbnail search. Transmit the image along with overlay, text, and voice information to another computer for review, inspection, examination or comparison. Clip all or part of an image and insert it into a document or presentation. E-mail, network, or link by modem to share important information.
The VIA-S70 is compatible with Intel/486 or higher PCs having 32 MB RAM, SVGA monitor, and a Windows 95/98 operating system, or Windows NT 4.0 or higher. Additional computer software requirements include MS Office Pro with Access database software, and Microsoft Outlook or Exchange E-mail software.
Features
Archive and retrieve images with information such as text and voice messages. Review thumbnail images before retrieving, or search the database for a key word or album name.
Transmit images, text, and voice to share information with another workstation for further review. Images can be transmitted with the marker overlay.
Crosslines can be displayed in one of 10 different line patterns. Crosslines can also have an open or closed intersection and can be auto-centered.
Overlay live images with text to label the video image. The text can be positioned anywhere in upper and lower case characters. Text files and voice messages can be attached to each image to give further case background.
Reference circles can be sized and positioned for a quick comparison of objects or cells to a standard.
Ten different pointers are available, including arrows, standard cross hairs, a target circle, a small circle, a target box, and a small box.
Reference grids can be sized to overlay the video image as an assistance in counting.
Horizontal, vertical, or diagonal lines may be positioned in one of three different line thicknesses.
The current date and/or time may be displayed anywhere.
Stores unlimited marker overlays, simple to complex. Images can be saved with or without the marker overlay and exported in many standard formats, including TIFF, BMP, or JPEG.
Markers and text may be displayed in different colors or shades for optimal contrast with the video image.
Networking capability allows multiple users to share the database. Images may be retrieved or posted anywhere in the network, without exiting the system. FTP access and E-mail are available from within the system.
Print to any Postscript or inkjet printer that uses a Windows 95/98 driver.
Video input and output available with one of two Coreco Ultra II frame grabbers and one of three Flashpoint Intrigue frame grabbers (NTSC composite, S-Video (Y/C) and RGB).
Clipboard allows users to clip all or part of an image and insert it into a word processing document, presentation application, or spreadsheet.
Backup features allows user to save and restore settings and marker overlays.
